The health of ones microbiome can affect depression in children. There are many different signs and symptoms that can show that your child may be feeling depressed. Some of those signs are self-loathing, having a loss of energy and feeling guilt. There are also some treatment options that your children can use such as psychotherapy as well as anti-depressant medication. Finally, there are many neurotransmitters involved that neurobiotics can regulate such as serotonin, dopamine and GABA. These have been tested and have seen quality results.
