Using the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS) in a Coaching context

May 7, 2022 By Paul Leave a Comment

There are a few different things that you can do with the mindful attention awareness scale if you are using it in a coaching context. You are able to use this scale once you give a client the assessment which features 15 different questions and they are answering on a scale of 1-6. This can help understand how much a person has the ability to pay attention and helps them become more self aware. This knowledge then can help them reduce stress and negative emotions.

Key Takeaways:

  • Coaching tools can help as long as they bring value to coaches and help the clients gain a better understanding of themselves.
  • Mindful Attention Awareness Scale is used to figure out what people are better at being in a state of mindfulness.
  • The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale is scored via an assessment test that features a 15 item questionnaire with 1-6 scale questions.

“In general, this state of mind allows a person to be sensitive and receptive to what is occurring around them or within their experience non-judgmentally.”
